Spam Pot Pie

Ingredients:
1 1/2 tablespoon Margarine
1/4 cup Chopped onion
1/8 cup Flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/16 teaspoon Pepper
1/8 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
1 cup Ham base broth
1/8 cup Evaporated milk
1/8 teaspoon Butter flavoring
1/2 package Frozen mixed vegetables, cooked
1 cup Diced spam
1/2 package Crescent refrigerator rolls
Serves 4 People

Melt margarine in skillet. Saute onion 8-10 minutes. Blend in flour and seasonings. Cook slightly. Stir in ham broth, milk and flavoring. While it cooks and thickens, add mixed vegetables and Spam. Heat to boiling.

Pour into casserole. Place refrigerator rolls on top. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 8-10 minutes or until rolls are done.

Filling Ingredients:
- 2 eggs, scrambled w/ a handful of chives and pepper and salt to taste
- 1/4 cup sauteed white button mushrooms
- 3 slices of Hormel’s white turkey spam
- 1/3 cup Thai fried rice

SPAM SHAKE

1 can of spam
1 tin of Anchovies
2 12oz cans of beer
4 oz tomato juice
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 cup chopped up parsley
1/4 cup chopped scallions
dash of Tabasco
salt and pepper to taste

Put it in blender until smooth
Serve chilled with celery sticks

SPAM JELLO

1lg. box lemon or lime Jello
1Lg. can Spam
1 med. onion chopped
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup ice cold water
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 bell peper, chopped
4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1/4 cup relish ( pickle,corn etc.)
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
2 drops Tabasco

Dissolve jello in boiling water. Add cold water, mayo and sour cream to jello. Chop Spam; add to jello with remaining ingredients. Chill until firm. Makes 6 to 8 servings. This recipe is excellent on a hot day.

Outdoor Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Serves 4
Ingredients

1 ciabatta loaf (about 12 inches long by 4 1/2 inches wide)
Olive oil, for brushing
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 large garlic clove
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 cup Nectarine Chutney (recipe follows)
1 8-ounce piece Gruyère cheese, rind trimmed, cheese grated (about 2 cups)
1 4-ounce wedge St. Andre cheese, rind trimmed
1 cup baby arugula

1. Preheat the barbecue for medium heat. Using a large serrated knife, cut the ciabatta horizontally in half leaving one long side attached, if possible.
2. Lightly brush the cut sides of the ciabatta with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
3. Rub the cut sides of the ciabatta with the garlic clove.
4. Place the ciabatta, oiled side down, on the grill and cook until just barely golden brown, rotating but not turning over to toast evenly, about 3 minutes.
5. Remove the ciabatta from the grill and reduce the heat of one burner to low.
6. Spread the toasted side of the bottom ciabatta piece with the mustard.
7. Spoon the chutney over the other toasted side.
8. Scatter half of the Gruyère cheese evenly over the mustard.
9. Tear off pieces of the St. Andre cheese and scatter it over the Gruyère, then scatter the remaining Gruyère cheese over.
10. Cover with the top half of the ciabatta, chutney side down, and press firmly to hold the sandwich together.
11. Lightly brush the top of the sandwich with oil.
12. Place the sandwich, oiled side down, on the grill over the burner on low heat, then brush the top of the sandwich with oil.
13. Close the hood and grill until the cheese melts and the bread is golden brown, rotating the sandwich as needed to brown evenly, about 8 minutes per side.
14. Transfer the sandwich to a cutting board.
15. Open the sandwich and scatter the arugula over the cheese.
16. Close the sandwich.
17. Using the serrated knife, cut the sandwich into 8 pieces and serve.

ELEGANT POTATO SPAM CASSEROLE

* 1 cn Condensed cream of potato
* -soup (10 3/4 oz)
* 1/4 cGrated Parmesan cheese,
* -divided
* 2 tb Sherry
* 4 cHot, prepared mashed
* -potatoes
* Vegetable cooking spray
* 1 cn SPAM Luncheon Meat, cut into
* -small pieces (12 oz)
* 1/4 ts Paprika

Preparation

Heat oven to 425'F.
Combine soup, 2 tablespoons cheese, and sherry;stir until smooth.
Spoon mashed potatoes into 1 1/2 quart casserolecoated with cooking spray.
Sprinkle SPAM on top of potatoes.
Spreadsoup mixture over SPAM.
Sprinle remaining 2 tablespoons cheese andpaprika over soup mixture.
Bake 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

CREAMY SPAM BROCCOLI CASSEROLE

Creamy SPAM Broccoli Casserole

* 1 (7-ounce) package elbow macaroni
* 2 cups frozen cut broccoli, thawed, drained
* 1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic, cubed
* 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
* 2 cups skim milk
* 2 tablespoons cornstarch
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1 cup shredded fat-free Cheddar cheese
* 3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
* 2 teaspoons butter, melted

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Coat 2-quart casserole with cooking spray.
2. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
3. In casserole, combine macaroni, broccoli, SPAM® Classic and bell pepper; mix well.
4. In small saucepan, stir together milk, cornstarch and pepper until cornstarch is dissolved. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until thickened; reduce heat to low. Add cheese; stir until melted.
5. Stir sauce into SPAM® mixture. In bowl, mix bread crumbs and margarine; sprinkle over casserole. Bake 40 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

Mini Spam Sandwiches

I found these great sandwiches made on the web.Looking at it closely these are my lil girls favorite mini sandwiches.Except she said she would put a whole lot more of nutella in the mini nutella and mango sandwich.Also MORE mayo in the spam sandwiches lol. Enjoy

Pepper Spam Sandwiches, halved. The sandwiches had pan-fried pepper spam, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and jalapenos, with the bread spread with Kewpie mayonnaise.

Half a Nutella & Mango sandwich. Instead of making one whole sandwich and cutting it in half, I only prepared half a sandwich. I took one slice, then halved it. I then proceeded to spread both sides with Nutella then added mango strips. Yummy idea, yes?

Apple wedges. To prevent the apples from browning, brush them with lemon juice or dip in a cup of lemon water. Lemon juice is more effective in slowing down the oxidation but leaves a lemony taste. Lemon water browns eventually but you can barely detect the taste.

Chocolate Mallows. Another childhood favorite, chocolate mallows is a big marshmallow stuck on top of a biscuit then covered in chocolate.

Spam has been notorious over the years for being the mystery meat in a can, no its not made of cute little kittens it is in fact made of a mixture of ham and pork with some spices to add a bit of flavour. In Hawaii they love it, they are the worlds largest consumer of this tasty product and now giant fast food giants Mc Donald’s and Burger King have got in on the act and are selling it on their breakfast menus. Mc Donald’s have 78 outlets in Hawaii and are trying their special eggs, rice and spam meal until the end of July. After then they may ad it to their regular menu if it becomes a popular as they expect. Hawaii’s 7 Eleven chain have also got on in the act, and hope to attract some of the huge Japanese tourist numbers to their stores with a Spam musubi wrapped in rice and seaweed… how yummy!

I was watching travel channel a while back and they run a show about resorts in Hawaii. On one segment, they are showing a restaurant using SPAM for sushi

So I slice up the SPAM (1-inch thick) and grilled it with Indonesian BBQ sauce (kecap manis) and Japanese eel sauce. The SPAM itself is really salty, so by using the Indonesia BBQ sauce which quite sweet, giving it a more moderate taste.

We formed the Onigiri with the SPAM in the middle of it and I went another step by grilling the Onigiri itself with lighter eel sauce. The result was really good

I just love Spam so this is a must-make. Spam cooks up really well when grilled at a very high heat so is ideal for a Stone baked pizza. If you really don't like the idea of using Spam, use fresh ham instead.
Servings

Makes 2 pizzas
Ingredients

* 1 portion pizza dough (use very strong flour if you can - makes for an extra chewy base)
* 150 g ball of mozzarella cheese, torn into pieces
* 1 340 g can of Spam original (chopped pork and ham), cut into thin strips.
* Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
* 1 cup spicy tomato sauce
* Handful of basil leaves, torn
* 1 tablespoon cornmeal

Method

1. Pre-heat the grill to hot as you can get it
2. Set the pizza stone lower than you would for toasting or the pizza may burn
3. Stretch or roll the dough into two thin rounds
4. Sprinkle the stone with cornmeal
5. Place the pizza dough on a pizza peel that has been dusted with cornmeal
6. With a deft move, slide the pizza dough from the pizza peel, on to the pizza stone.
7. Cook for about 2 minutes or until lightly browned. Flip the pizza over and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side.
8. Repeat for the second pizza whilst you prepare the first.
9. Drizzle the pizza with olive oil and spread the pizza with ½ of the tomato sauce
10. Top with torn mozzarella and sliced Spam.
11. Add a final drizzle of olive oil or for a spicy touch, some chili oil.
12. Bake for 3 or 4 minutes or until the cheese browns a little - watch it carefully as it can burn easily.
13. Remove and sprinkle with torn basil.
14. Leave to rest for a few minutes
15. Serve hot

1 TBS sugar
